Goals

To accomplish its mission, the CVHN pursues the following goals:

Expand access to primary and preventive health care services and improve the overall health status of low-income uninsured and underserved families in the Central Valley.

Create a partnership among Network members to facilitate and encourage individual member success through an open exchange of knowledge and information, common problem solving and peer support.

Create a Network infrastructure that has the capacity to analyze, develop financing for and implement collaborative and joint activities to increase individual member and overall Network service quality, cost effectiveness and efficiency.

Establish an independent and unified voice, and a distinct Network identity, to advocate on behalf of Network members and their patients with state and federal agencies and trade associations, providers, patients, the media and other potential strategic partners and key publics.

Core Services

The CVHN is organized to benefit member health centers, their staffs, patients and communities by providing a spectrum of shared and centralized programs and services.

CVHN core member services include ...

Internal Network communications, education and peer support, including development of peer committees for information sharing, educational forums, newsletters, and the on-line Managers' Forum bulletin boards for key health center management;

Educational and informational materials and activities, including an Internet Website, to communicate with key publics about the value of community health centers, their role as safety net providers and the needs of the underserved;

Network participation in coalitions, organizations and public forums on behalf of members and their patient constituencies, including monitoring key policy issues through state and federal clinic associations; and

Ongoing analysis, fund development and implementation of programs and shared service opportunities (with a special focus on managed care readiness and effectiveness) that can enhance and improve member efficiency, cost-effectiveness and quality of service.
