Overview
Incorporated in 1998, the Central Valley Health Network (CVHN) is a consortium of 13 Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) corporations that provide comprehensive preventive primary care services to low-income and medically underserved families throughout California’s Central Valley.
CVHN’s mission is to facilitate community health centers’ strength in the marketplace and to support member’s effective delivery of high quality and accessible health care. We provide members with a wide range of services including advocacy, training, technical assistance, resource development, and program administration. CVHN places a strong emphasis on advocacy at the local, state and federal levels, focusing on critical issues affecting members and their patients’ access to health care.
CVHN is the largest network of its kind focused solely on advocacy for FQHCs, serving more than half a million patients annually in 124 community health center sites across 21 counties. In total, CVHN members provide 2.5 million patient encounters each year.
Our members play a vital role in providing access to primary care to low-income families throughout the Central Valley. In many communities, CVHN members offer local residents the only access to health care services. Seventy-seven percent of the patients served by CVHN members are at or below 100% of the federal poverty level, 49% are on Medi-Cal, and 35% are uninsured. Of these patients, 74% are Latino and 40% are farmworkers.
